What we do

The ESTEEM Training Project is a European Social Funding Project aimed at joining Community Organisations who have a high  levels of unemployed clients with key contact centre employers across Cardiff.

In brief the outline of the project is as follows:

n
We will carry out ten Contact Centre two hour workshops between now and June 2008.  The aim of these are to give people an understanding of what it is like to work in a Contact Centre, salaries, hours of work, what skills are needed and what career progression can be expected.  These workshops will be held in key Community locations across Cardiff.

n
Each of the workshops will then be followed with a weeks training course in Call Handling/Customer Service.  The Course has been accredited by e-Skills – the Sector Skills Council for Contact Centres.  Each client completing the course will gain a Certificate and the credits can then be used towards an NVQ in the workplace when the clients successfully gain employment.

n
All those clients gaining the Certificate will then be guaranteed an interview for a real job in a Contact Centre.  All our employer partners have a variety of jobs offering different salaries and different hours of work.  All are committed to training and ongoing staff development.

n
And finally at the end of the project we have scheduled a train the Trainers Course to enable us to train the community organisations in delivering the course themselves.  By this time we hope that links will be forged with the Corporate Organisations to ensure the process can be continued.
